Fascinating. Six nights of rioting in France and not a peep from the New York Times.
A testimony to where power lie. Blogs have been used as a great equalizer but there is fear and discrediting of bloggers from all corners. If we agree that dialogue is best, and open airing of concerns then let the blogs roll.
But I do wonder why the NYTimes has chosen to ignore the France riots… at least on the front pages. Anyway, that’s another matter.
Blogging, or bloggers will high light stories or commentary that can be left out of the light in other medium or corners of publishing. All blogs can contain opinion, facts & truths, mistakes, errors, omissions, un-truths, and really awful biased opinions. A bit like a cafe conversation. If you read enough (triangulate some would say) different blogs you get a better picture of the truth. The sites with blind bias usually reveal themselves and typically the ones leaning a direction or the other but who are still objective will admit their bias.
www.digg.com is one of my favorite aggregator sites on what a lot of people are interested in… mostly because it tends to stay away from politics. :) Social software based on what people are blogging — it’s neat and provides a zeitgeist view of the world.
