Haiti’s history

A very good post on Haiti’s history in the face of this disaster. Everyone is discussing a country in ruins but the reasons why are written in history. The lack of a stable society and government in the post-colonial period led to so many problems. I also heard on NPR a great segment recounting the mayor of Port au Prince saying that on a normal day most of the buildings weren’t safe!
