I regularly read stopdesign. Haven’t read in a while but found an entry like this one.

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 23.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.

And well I think that is kind of cool. I grabbed the book closest to me.

But the designer does not rely on just big and little to show importance; she uses color, line thickness, layout, and motion to convey the hierarchy.

Yeah, it’s a bit silly but adds to a sense of a zeitgeist — had I done this post at night I would have likely had a very different quote. What this points to more than anything is that I like to share what we read.
