Ray-Bans
The worst flash implementation ever? No, it’s not horrible but it’s annoying and slow, so I guess it is horrible.
At the end of the day html would have been better, faster, more accessible, as feature rich, and easier to use.
As it stands navigating the Optical Collection is done by scrolling one of those horrible film strip scrollers at the bottom of a teensy-tiny frame (compared to the overall window of my browser it’s tiny). You can only see 4 eye glass frames at a time. The thumb nail photos for this film strip are tiny… forcing you to load the main frame for the eye glass frame. Even on two different fat internet pipes it takes just over 5 seconds to load.
The anxiety here is I have no idea how many frames or style categories are in the Ray Ban Optical Collection. It’s hideous design which is not fitting to the classic style of Ray Ban.
Don’t ask how long it took to initially load the web site. If it weren’t for my search to replace my aging and thrice super-glued Ralph Lauren classic looking frames I wouldn’t have bothered.
The other trouble with a place like this online is actually finding the product in a store! I bet a lot of stores carry Ray-Ban —- sun glasses! I have seen eye glasses by Ray Ban in enough places, but what about these styles?
Optical 5018 seems like a fair choice. Almost Wayfarer style.
Optical 5020 is 50’s style square frame with plastic on top and metal on bottom.
Optical 5017 must be Wayfarer.
Optical 5010 is not bad — sort of a slimmed down wayfarer style.
Optical 5027 — likewise in the Wayfarer trade mark style but with a different color face. Nice, quirky.
Optical 5005 is a rectanglur thick plastic desgin.
Optical 5023 is cool. thick too!
OK I reached the end. Too bad the site stinks, I love the glasses! No clip-ons though. 🙁
